Porter 5 Months

The Porter boy is 5-months-old already!  I wish I could freeze time right now!  He's so fun, and he's even starting to sleep through the night.  He's such a happy little guy!  We sure love him!  He's a busy boy who never sits still.  He's the best 5 month shot we could get...
Because this was happening in all the sitting up pictures...

I love these two more than anything!

Porter still loves his jumper!  Excuse the unmade bed!

My little work buddy!

Desperate times call for desperate measures!  I worked on the second monitor.  It kept him entertained for about 5 minutes.  I'll take it!

He loves his toes!

He loves sleeping on his belly.

Nothing more precious than a sleeping baby!

We babysat the Lukester one night.  He thought it was so fun to take a bath with Porter.

He's on the move!  Covered all four corners of his crib.  Don't worry...we moved the monitor after this day!

He loves all the attention from his cousins!

This is the only picture I took on our anniversary apparently.  We went to the temple and to dinner.  Happy 2nd Birthday to our eternal family!

Look who found me!

James and I decided that rather than get each other presents for our anniversary, we would buy a large mirror for our bathroom.  So one night we headed to Ikea, purchased the mirror, got to the car only to realize we had driven Gus and not DA.  What were we thinking?  We had to get creative in fitting the mirror in the car.  It was way past Porter's nap time, so he screamed the whole way home.  It was a stressful night, but we love our new mirror!

We got raspberries on our bush!!

First time eating vegetables...green beans!  He loved them!

Melanie got this exer-saucer from a friend for free.  He loves it and jumps and jumps and jumps in it.

He is rolling all over the place.  He rolled off that one little step one day and nearly gave me a coronary. Time to get a gate!
Here are some things that Porter has been up to this month:
  • He is starting to go down for naps well without screaming his head off
  • He rolled off the bed that we change him on while I was changing him.  Mother of year!
  • He kicks and kicks and kicks his legs when he's laying on the floor and always wants to be on his belly.
  • He eats rice cereal, oatmeal, and vegetables.
  • He gets sleepy between 7 and 7:30pm and is ready for bed.
  • He officially sleep through the night.  He will usually wake up between 5:30 and 6am.

Food, Fair, and Football

On Sept. 2, Porter tried his first solids.  He was a little unsure of it at first, but he still gobbled it right up.  It is going to take some practice for him and us.  I think he took about 4 bites, and then we realized it would take all day to feed him all that we had made so we poured it in a bottle and did it the easy way.  Lazy!

Ryan and Kara moved down Labor Day weekend, so my mom was here helping.  It also just happened to be the first BYU football game.  Boy was it a good one!  Hail Mary in the last second of the game for the win!
All ready for game day tomorrow!
Cougar cousins

Kyle and Kristen stopped by and we met little Cade for the first time.  He's about a month younger than Porter.  Look at my scrawny kid!
Game day!
Celebrating the big win with some Chik-Fil-A!

Last weekend, I met up with the Schofield's and Tricia for the Utah State Fair.  James had already committed to helping a family moved, so he couldn't make it.  We missed him!  Remember how I'm not very good at being a single parent?!  Thank goodness I had the besties for backup!

Butter sculpture!

Deep fried cookie dough.  It was just as disgusting as it looks.
Little P knows a good thing when he sees it!

We wore this boy out!
That same night was also the first home football game.  Can I just say that I love college football more than most things?!  It was especially enjoyable to not be pregnant this season and smelling ever hot dog in the whole stadium!

There I am as seen from Ryan's seats!

It came down to the wire, but we beat Boise State!

You would have thought we won the Super Bowl!  So fun!
Well, the Cougs can't keep taking these games down to the final minute or I am going to croak!  We are excited for the rest of the season!

August Roundup

Here are a bunch of random pictures from the rest of our adventures in August.

We celebrated the one year mark in our house with a trip to Swig.

James' parents got a ton of pickling cucumbers in their garden this year, so they were so nice to give us a bunch to make into pickles!  Can't wait until November when we can eat them!

JooLin and family came down to meet little Porter as part of their family vacation to Yellowstone.  It was so fun to see them!

Sophie was in heaven having all these new girlfriends.  They were all pretty devastated when they had to leave.

Porter took his first trip to BYU so we could get geared up for football season.  He loved it of course!

That's the face we love the most!

We celebrated James' 34th birthday!!  We sure love him!  Purple cows!!

I surprised James with a trip to Bombay House with some of the fam!  So fun!

We organized our pantry.  It had been on our to do list since moving in.  Only took us a year to get to it!

I realized that I can only flip my tongue one way...right to left.  Can't do it the other way.  So weird!  James can do both ways.  How about you??

I bit weird on my lunch one day and chipped my tooth.  I ended up having to get a filling removed and then refilled.  Half numb lip!
That's about does it for August in the Taylor camp!
