Porter 9 Months

I am clearly aware that I say this every month, but this boy is growing up way to fast!  How is it possible that I birthed him 9 months ago?  It really seems like yesterday but also like 100 years ago at the same time.  Here is our boy and some of what he's been up to in the last month...
He's pulling himself up to everything.

Our ward change to 8:30am in November, so it is major accomplishment if we can get him to take a nap in sacrament meeting.
He's eating mostly finger foods and can feed himself.  He also likes to put food in his hair and all over his face.

New outfit!  The shirt was a mess in less than an hour!
He looks like such a big kid in this picture!

I created this contraption with some rubber-bands and a bungee cord to try to keep Porter's sippy from hitting the floor and spraying apple juice everywhere.  It didn't work too well.  Worth a try though!
He loves looking at himself in the mirror after his bath.

Porter loves eating Nana's homemade bread!

I'm pretty sure he would do this all day if I let him.

He hates having his bib on.  I have to safety pin it.  I say, "No, Porter! We have to have the bib on while you eat."  He looks at me and shakes his head with a big grin.  Little stinker!
Here are his 9 month stats from his doctor's visit:
Weight: 17lbs 11oz (20%)
Height: 28in (40%)
Head: 45.8cm (75%)

Here are a few other things about Porter this last month...
He went from kneeling in his crib to standing to pound on the wall and anything else in reach.
He now crawls up to my feet and climbs up my legs and cries for me to pick him up.
He doesn't want to be held though.  He's much to busy for that.
He's down to two naps a day and they have started to be pretty good, long naps.
He's very attached to his binkie when he sleeps.  We are in big trouble there!
He claps his hands when I start to sing "Patty Cake".
HE has started dancing a little when music comes on.
When you ask, "Where's Porter?", he pats his chest.
He has become quite attached to me.
He is usually a very happy and friendly boy and everyone loves him everywhere we go.

We love our Porter boy!

Meeting Cosmo

We went to a BYU men's volleyball game on Friday night for family date night.  It took me back to the good ol' days when I may or may not have been a bit of a men's vball groupie.  Ooops!  It was a lot of fun even though we lost in the 5th set.

Then little Porter boy met Cosmo.  Cosmo is sort of creepy and he smells musty and moldy, but it was awesome!  Porter just stared at him trying to figure him out.  It was pretty cute!  I love all these firsts with Porter!

Ringing in the New Year

We kept our New Years celebration pretty low key this year.  Amy's house was the gathering spot again.  We just hung out and played games and ate food.  What we do best!

The kiddos rang in the new year around 8:30pm before going to bed.

Of all the things to eat, my Jack Jack chooses broccoli!

We had a pants pee of a time playing Telestrations with this crew.  Hilarious!

Then we stayed up until midnight to ring in the new year.  Who knows why we do this?  We all have kids that were up at the crack of dawn the next day!
Happy New Year nonetheless!  Normally I would write a list of the things I crossed off my bucket list during the year, but it turns out I didn't cross anything off.  How did I not put "have a child" on my bucket list?!  That's about all I accomplished in 2015.  But it was a major and life-changing accomplishment that will bless my life forever!  And he gives me kisses too and loves his momma!  Bring on 2016!
I mean, look at that sweet face!
Happy New Year from this crew!
We kicked off the new year by visiting the Normal Rockwell exhibit at BYU and then had dinner at the Brick Oven.  Great times!

We sure hate having to say goodbye to these two!
I can't believe the holidays are already over and its back to work tomorrow!  Boooooo!
