It's Your Birthday, Shout Hurray! Jack is 4.

The Jack Attack is 4.  He is so happy about it!  I headed down early Saturday morning to go for a run with Amy and then prep for Jack's birthday party with his little friends.

Jack wanted a Captain America party, so Amy went all out.

The kids decorated super hero masks.

I kept Buggy busy while the kids did super hero missions like shooting targets and catching the bad guy (Dan plays a very good bad guy).

Jack blew out the candles on his Captain America cupcake.

They hit a pinata and scored all sorts of candy.

Me and the birthday boy!  I sure love this kid!  He makes me laugh all the time!  He's so smart, imaginative, and kind!  He throws a mean dance party and asks so many bright questions.  Happy Birthday, buddy!

Sometimes Work is Alright

Holly and I have been out driving a lot the last few weeks for work.  It is sure nice to get out of the office every once and while.  It has been especially awesome driving up in the mountains as all the leaves are changing.  Here is a picture of the Upper Provo River Falls...

One day we saw lots of funny signs.  The first was a supposed nudist camp.  This was the sign at the front entrance...

Thankfully it was closed at the time "due to mosquitoes."  That is a good reason for such an establishment to be closed I would say!

We saw a couple of bull moose one day out driving near Coalville.  So rad!

Usually I'm not super thrilled by my job, but sometimes it is the best job in the world!  It is days like these that make me so grateful for the job I have!

Meeting the Jimmer!

Don't be too jealous everyone, but I, Kerri Cosby, have indeed met James "Jimmer" Taft Fredette.  He came out with a new book a couple of weeks ago, and Olivia saw that he was going to be signing at Deseret Book in Orem.  Of course we went!  We were about the 30th person in line.  He was the nicest person on earth as expected.  He kept thanking us over and over for coming.  Cute kid!  Do you think we wouldn't come?  You're Jimmer!  We even got to meet TJ Fredette.  I'm saving the book for my upcoming trip to Chicago.  Can't wait!  Love the Jimmer!

After the book signing, Olivia and I went to Pizzeria 712 which was listed in my Food Network Magazine as the best pizza in Utah.  It did not disappoint.  Olivia has the pictures on her camera, so I will post those pics soon.  Meeting Jimmer and going to Pizzeria 712 were both on our roommate bucket list last fall which we never accomplished.  Better late than never!

Chunkin' Dunkin' Attempt #2

Well, we tried again!  Tried being the key word here!  We packed up our towels and headed up American Fork Canyon to go to Silver Lake and attempt to dunk our chunk.  The drive to the trailhead was unpaved and quite slow which deters some people from doing this hike.  Then the hike is decent, which further deters hikers.  We thought it would be perfect for disrobing and taking a quick uninterrupted dip.  Fail!
After the hour+ drive to the trailhead, we found out the trail was "closed until further notice."  Why?  Will we be eaten by mountain lions?  Is there a grizzly bear on the trail?  Will we die or be seriously harmed or maimed if we go anyway?  These are the types of questions we entertained before getting back in the car and heading back down the mountain...defeated once again.

The one bright side to this whole ordeal is that the leaves are changing and the drive was absolutely stunning!

Do you think we are trying to force the whole skinny dipping thing?  That's what I'm starting to think.  It is something that just has to happen in the right place and the right moment.  To be continued...

Resting From My Labors in Boise

I headed up to Boise for Labor Day weekend again this year.  After cheering the Cougs on to their first victory of the season, I slept for a few hours and then hopped in my car and headed to Twin Falls.  Here I am road trippin' solo:

I did a quick session at this beautiful temple (got to cross another temple off my list...yippee!), and then Kara and Ryan met me there for lunch.

I watched Iz while Kara and Ryan did a session.  We headed over the mall and had a grand time!  He loved this Big Bird airplane ride and we even saw Elmo which made his day!

Then I drove around for a while hoping Iz would fall asleep, but no such luck.  So we headed back to the temple and played there until Kara and Ryan were done.

From the temple we headed to our campsite just outside of Hagerman, ID.  It was right along the Snake River and very lovely!  I love camping so much!  We roasted hotdogs for dinner and went swimming in the resort pool.

We could not keep Iz away from this swing.  He would throw a fit anytime we made him come back to camp.

Then we headed back to camp and got in our warm clothes and cooked s'mores.

Isaac would have nothing to do with going to sleep in the tent.  He kept crying and saying, "Car!" over and over again.  Poor kid just doesn't understand the whole camping thing yet.  He just wanted to go home and get in his comfy crib.  Kara sat with him in the car and he fall asleep in no time.  Here is us with the morning crusties:

We ate a quick breakfast and then got on the road up to Boise.

On the way home we stopped to see the Hagerman Horse.  This is an ancient fossil skeleton of a horse-like creature that was found in this area.  I love that when people say the Book of Mormon can't be true because it talks about horses and no horses existed here before the Europeans came, I can just say, "Boom!  Hagerman Horse!".  I'm positive those skeletal remains were once Moroni's noble steed!

We just chilled the rest of the weekend and watched lots of college football.  Isaac is a basketball champion.  We played a lot of sk'ball, as he calls it.  Love this kid!

On Monday morning, I went for a run while Kara and Isaac joined me on the bike, and then we got ready and headed downtown.  I attempted to take family pictures, but the kid wasn't really interested.  This one turned out pretty dang cute though!

We grabbed some lunch downtown and then I headed out on my journey back home.  It was a great weekend!  Thanks to Kara and Ryan for hosting me and to Iz for all his kisses and loves!  Such a sweet boy!  Wish I lived next door!

Sophie Bug is 2

My little Sophie Bug turned two a few days ago.  Words can't express how much I adore this little gal.  I headed to the Grossen's after work and helped Amy finish up the cupcakes she had made for the party, and then we headed to Dan's parent's to celebrate.

Doesn't she look like a full blown kid here?  Not a baby anymore.

 

I love how Sophie squeals my name whenever she sees me.  "TAY!!"  That's how she says my name right now and I love it.  I love how she comes and grabs my finger and takes me wherever she wants me to go.  I love that when I talk to Amy on the phone, Sophie always wants to talk to me too.  She gets on the phone and just babbles always.  I love her raspy little voice, love her sass, love that she calls herself Fifi, and love her crazy hair.  She's my most favorite little lady!

Kinda looks like she has a mullet in this picture.  It makes me laugh.  She loved her new Tangled tea set!

 

We sang "Happy Birthday" and blew out candles several times just because Soph was so cute doing it.
