Garth and Halloween

The night before Halloween, we had our annual Taylor family Halloween party.  Porter was a little farmer boy and James and I were his animals.

James' parents planned all sorts of fun activities for us to do around the house.  One activity was seeing how many different articles of clothing you could put on at once.

James and I left Porter asleep at Nana and Papa's and headed downtown to the Garth Brooks concert.  This was my birthday present from James.  I have always wanted to see Garth in concert, but it just had never happened.  Somehow James found out he was going to be in town around my birthday and got us tickets.  The concert was going to be his second concert that night and it was supposed to start at 10:30pm.  Way passed my bedtime!

By the time they got all the people from the first concert out so they could let us in, it was 10:30pm.  The concert didn't actually start until almost 11:30pm.  It was a good thing Garth was so amazing...kept me awake the whole time!

James and I went back to his parent's house and just slept there.  Porter never made a peep while we were gone.  He's such a good little sleeper!

Halloween morning
Porter loves Papa!
That evening we headed up to Amy's to go trick-o-treating with them.  We walked around their neighborhood with Elsa, Elmo, and Darth!

What a fun weekend!  I'm looking forward to Halloween next year when Porter understand a little better what is going on!

Porter 6 Months

Porter turned 6-months-old yesterday!

Here are his stats from his doctor's visit:
Weight: 15lbs 6oz (10%)
Length: 26in (25%)
Head: 43cm (75%)

The doctor was very happy with how he is growing and developing.  At one point while hold Porter on my lap as he jumped nonstop the doctor said, "He sure is active, isn't he?"  You have no idea Dr. Clayton!  He doesn't stop!
Here are a few pictures from throughout the last month...
Getting into mischief while I got ready for the day.  Topped all the pillows over and found our books.
Still loves jumping and playing in his exer-saucer.

He started sitting up on his own.
We joined Kara and the boys for a trip to the Bean Museum.

He is surrounded by toys but prefers to play with the empty back of pretzels.
Ready for loud sporting events!
He hung out with Sadie while James and I went to a football game!  Little Cougar buds!

He got a rash all over his back.  We never could figure out what caused it.

Stop being so big!
First graham cracker.  He loved it of course!
Pooping face!

He's happy almost all the time!
Some meals are messier than others!
Here are a few other things from this last month:
  • He likes to smack his lips.
  • Started using his highchair for the first time.  We should have busted that out a long time ago!
  • He loves to smack and lick the tile floor.  Lovely.
  • He started eating fruits.  Loves them!
  • He can find his binkie and put it in his own mouth.
  • He tried beef and chicken but did not like either of them.
  • He usually wakes up happy and talks and plays in his bed until we go get him.
  • He fights taking naps at church.  He just loves to be in his bed.
I don't want him to grow up anymore!  He's so happy and fun!  We sure love this boy!

Porter's First Football Game

We finally had a home football game yesterday that didn't start way late at night so we brought Porter with us.  Deeds and Kimmy came down from Rexburg to go too.  It was also Kimmy's first BYU game.  The whole family ended up being able to go!  The game was super boring (we won 70-6), but we still had a blast!

Porter couldn't take his eyes or hands off of Deeds' beard.
Cougar kids!
Porter loved it and was such a good boy!

Now that's a beautiful football day right there!
Porter even took a nap!  Sweet boy!

I hope he gets to be a student here someday!
I love it here!

So pumped!
