A few weeks ago, I tossed the idea out to Amy of going up to Boise to surprise my brothers for their birthdays. She was unsure about driving by herself with all the kids, James wasn't sure if he should miss work, and then I ended up having to go to Seattle for work the same weekend. We finally decided just to go and I'm so glad we did! Here is a video of us surprising Ryan...Isaac is terrified of us.
Kara was the only one who knew we were coming. Deeds came over later after work. We had a great weekend!

We did a short photo shoot of all the kiddos to give to grandma and grandpa for Mother's and Father's Day. They don't have a picture of all the grandkids that include the little Lukester. It was cold, but I think we got a good one.

On Sunday night, James took me to the airport in Boise to head off to Seattle and he drove home. It was the first time we had been apart since getting married. For those who know me, I do not do goodbyes well at all. And it was ugly! I was just so sad to say goodbye to him and to not see him for a whole week. Every airport personnel person I interacted with asked if I was ok and if I needed a Kleenex. Hahaha...I must have looked like a wreck! Luckily Seattle is beautiful and the week went by fast!

I drove all week with my coworker Chad. One day we stopped at the Farmers Market for lunch and got sushi. Yummm!

One night I went to a lookout point to see downtown. So beautiful! iPhone pics aren't great and definitely don't do it justice!
We had lots and lots of equipment problems. This is how most of our days started. Ugh!

On my last night there, I went to the temple and performed sealings. It was so beautiful!
I got maple bacon bars for all the guys in the office. They are just so good!
We drove around the University of Washington campus on my last day there. I had to ride the husky.
And we definitely saved the best for last in the food department...a Caribbean sandwich from Paseo. It was TO. DIE. FOR.! I want another one right now!

So I have to gush about my husband here because he is so amazing! When I got to my hotel and started unpacking my luggage, James had left a baggy of notes for me to open each day we were apart. He gave me an assignment to do everyday so that I would keep busy and not be homesick. One day I had to meet someone new or talk to a member of the hotel staff (I don't do this ever...way outside my comfort zone). Another day, I had to try a new food (I tried a really weird Indian dessert that was basically syrup sogged bread balls). Another day he challenged me to go to the temple. It was fun and was a highlight every morning to read my new note. I've never been so excited to get home so I could squeeze and smooch him! We survived a week apart! Hopefully we don't have to do that again any time soon! What has happened to me? I used to be so independent...now I can barely function without him!
