Garage Kerfuffle and Super Bowl

Just after Christmas, Costco had their garage storage racks on sale.  We had talked about getting one now that we have all sorts of baby stuff to store.  We finally decided to just go for it.  We honestly thought it would take a couple of hours to install.  One Saturday, I put Porter down for a nap, and we headed to the garage to get it hung.  After an hour or so, this is what the one corner looked like...

Even though the stud finder said there was a stud there, the screws just kept popping through like it was just going through the dry wall.  We even called a neighbor (a builder and contractor) over for reinforcement, and he couldn't figure out what was going on either.  To make a very long story short, we have metal joists and we needed special screws, and special drill bit, and all sorts of other gear.  Poor James worked on it for 4 Saturdays in a row, but it is up now and we love it!
Then last Sunday was the Super Bowl.  We had our annual Super Bowl party at James' parents' house.  We were all so bummed the Cardinals didn't make it, but as always, it was fun to be with family, eat good good, and watch the game (and commercials).

We were all happy for Peyton Manning and the Broncos!  Porter was in heaven with all the attention!

  1. Very funny but frustrating story about the garage storage rack. I want to see a picture of that thing loaded up.
