Porter 7 Months

Amidst all the Thanksgiving celebrations, Porter turned 7-months-old!  He is growing up way faster than James or I would like, but it is so fun to watch him discover new things and become more independent!

Few things cuter than a bath baby!

My sister-in-law's mom knitted this for Porter.  I received it as a baby shower gift, and he's finally big enough to wear it. He melted hearts at church this Sunday!

Big boy sitting in the front part of the cart now!

Holding his own bottle.

We saw this tie and it had to be purchased!

This is what working looks like for me in the afternoon.  He's usually really good about keeping himself entertained.

Cutting his first two teeth!

Getting in to all sorts of mischief!

I love how he sleeps with bum up in the air!

Now sitting in the high chairs at the restaurants.

He prefers empty diaper boxes and my lotion to all his fun toys.

Can't get over those big brown eyes!
Here are a few more things that Porter has done this month:
  • He's starting to get really good at holding his own sippy cup and drinking his juice.
  • He stopped breastfeeding.  I dried right up with him eating so many solids now.  And let's be honest, I didn't make a very big effort to keep my supply up.  Breastfeed...not my favorite!
  • He pooped in he bathtub for the first time.
  • He gets up on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth.
  • He pees out of his diaper almost ever night.  We even put him in a size 3 at night.  Lots of laundry!
  • He started clapping.
  • He has started playing and splashing in his bath.
  • He is really great at going to bed somewhere else and transferring to his own bed when we get home.
  • He is still taking naps every two hours because his naps are not very long.
  • By the end of the month, he was starting to army crawl around.

Thanksgiving Weekend

Another successful Thanksgiving is in the books!  The weekend started off with Kimmy and Deeds arriving and making this announcement...
Hurray!  We are so excited!  Baby Cosby will be joining us in June!
Porter's first Thanksgiving!

We all chipped in with making different things.  Amy was so kind to do all the shopping a few days before.  We cooked the turkey at our house so that Amy's oven would be free for everything else that needed baking.
I have to insert a little story here.  The day before Thanksgiving, I headed to Amy's and we made all the pies.  Sophie was our little helper.  As we were baking Sophie said, "All the girls in the kitchen working and all the boys are playing or taking naps."  Hahaha!  She has learned what Thanksgiving is all about so young.  Porter and Luke were napping and Jack and Dan were playing a video game.  James was at our house prepping the turkey, so he's off the hook!
We had a huge delicious spread of food!  Man, I love food!

After dinner we Skyped with my parents so Kimmy and Deeds could share the big news.  It was pretty awesome and chaotic trying to Skype with that many people.
 Then we ate pie!  Heaven!
We finished off the weekend with a trip to the movie theater to see The Good Dinosaur.  This was Porter's first movie.  He did pretty well!  I had to get up and walk with him for about the last 15 minutes.  Such a good boy!

Then we hit In-N-Out.  This was Porter's first taste of In-N-Out.  He approves!
Look at that face!

We went to a BYU basketball game too!  Porter's first!

I love my family and I love Thanksgiving!  I wish my parents could have been here, but it was so great to at least be with all my siblings!

Porter's 6 Month Photo Shoot

We decided it was high time to do some formal pictures of our little man.  This cuteness just has to be documented!   I found the cutest outfit ever and we headed to Foto Fly in Draper.  He wasn't as smiley as he usually is.  Our photographer was super great with a baby, but we are happy with how they turned out.  Picture overload...

James and I were not planning on being in any pictures, so I barely have make up on and James is scruffy, but a family shot nonetheless!

There were lots of barfs and a wardrobe change but he was happy through the whole thing.  Our photographer said he had never seen a 6-month-old last so long without getting fussy.  Our Porter boy is pretty chill and goes with the flow well.  I could kiss that face all day!
