Trip to Boise

Porter and I just got back from a trip to Boise with Amy and the Grossen kiddos.  I'm pretty sure the trip nearly ended both of our lives!  Ryan and Kara are moving to Utah in a few weeks, so Amy and I wanted to go visit Boise one more time.  I love it there and will miss going there to visit, but we are so excited for them to live close!  I really debated whether to go or not.  I was nervous to be a single parent for several day, and I was sad to leave James.  Work has been crazy for him lately, so I asked if it would help if Porter and I left for a few days so he could have full days of work to get caught up.  He hated to say yes, but it is really what he needed.  So off to Boise we went!  Porter was pretty good on the way up there.  He only had one major screaming episode, but he was hungry so who can blame him?!
I say this trip nearly ended both of our lives because this boy hit a growth spurt or something while we there because I could not feed him enough, especially at night.  He also was a terrible napper and sleeper.  Poor kid was in different beds all day long depending on where in the house there was the least noise and where there was an available crib.  He also would pee out of every diaper throughout the night.  It was pretty miserable!  Luckily Amy and Kara were there to take over for me while wrangling their own kiddos.  All that being said, it was still so fun to be all together and for Porter to hang out with his cousins!
We went to the Owyhee County rodeo while we were there!

Luke's face!

The rodeo was fun!  We ate lots of good rodeo food and Porter even fell asleep in his car seat for most of it.
Can't wait for these two to be best buds!

I can't get over the cuteness of this picture!  Sophie is so sweet with Porter!

Boy did we treasure every minute that this happened!

Amy and I took all the kids to the park one morning while Ryan and Kara met with their realtor.  It proved to be quite a lengthy park time, and keeping 6 kids entertained and happy at the park for that long was a chore, let me tell you!

First bumbo time with some help from a blanket stuffed all around him!

His hair...haha!  Sticks straight up and can't do anything about it.

These are my very favorite gals! What would I do without them?!
I even tried running for the first time since having Porter while we were there.  It took me nearly 30 minutes to go just over 2 miles and I nearly died!  I was so sore the next day I could barely walk!  I've got a long way to go to get back into running shape!
Porter was great on the way home until we got to around Ogden, and then I had to sit in the back with him.  We were sure excited to get home and see James!!  I am definitely not cut out to be a single parent.  I need him for so many reasons!  Goodbye Boise!

3 Months Old

And just like that, Porter is 1/4 of a year old!  He is smiley and social.

Every time we are around Sophie, she makes sure Porter has tummy time.  He's getting really good at holding his head up a long time!

This happened one night.  He stayed asleep the whole time I changed him.

He's still my scrawny little buddy!

He was really proud of himself for this one!

This is my work set up.  I breastfeed away while still working.  Sometimes he even takes a little nap right there.

Not sure how much long he's going to be staying in the bouncer.

We got our family wall all set up.

3 Months old!
Porter is waking up twice a night now.  We put him down around 7:30pm, and he wakes up around 1am and again around 4am.  He usually eats and falls right back asleep.  We are still attempting to breastfeed, but we supplement a lot with formula.  He coos all the time and we love it!  He is usually a happy little guy!  We love him!

Bennion's in Town

Last week Wendy and the kids were in town.  We spent as much time all together as we could!  One night we celebrated Halloween in July since the Bennion's are never here for our annual Halloween party.  It was so fun!  Everyone was even provided costume courtesy of the stake clothing swap that morning!
Playing minute to win it games.

All the grandkiddos (minus the Willis's)!

Wendy's kids were in love with Porter.  It was so cute!  He loved them too!

We love when the Bennion's are in town and cherish every minute we get all together!
