Rollercoaster of a day, but you win some and you lose some I guess. I'll try and focus on the best of times!

Family Time

The first weekend of February, I took a half day off work on Friday and headed down to Provo to spend some time with these kids before they leave me and move to Boise. It was a super fun weekend!
Can you believe how big and how cute my little Izzy is? I will miss his little face so much when they move! I might just be trekking up to Boise every other weekend just to kiss these cheeks.

Kara and I had some craft time that night and made these cute names.
On Saturday, the Grossen's came down to go to the BYU basketball game (Jimmer fever around here!!). I got to babysit my little Sophie Bug. These cousins sure love each other. My first little crushes were on my cousins, so I think these two probably will be best little buddies.
And I got to play with this kid before they left for the game. He might be the smartest, funniest kid in town. I love my Jack Jack soooo much!

On Sunday we all met at the Grossen's for our annual Super Bowl party. I had zero interest in the game, but it was a good excuse for a party with lots of good food. These two couldn't keep their eyes off the game. Gotta love Amy and Dan's new Sony Bravia!
I may have lost a lot of weight in recent months, but my calves are still the hugest things on the planet earth. It's ok...I like them. They are pretty much all muscle and they work well for getting me from point A to point B. Can't complain too much! This is a great shot of those bad boys!

I have to list it so I never forget: 7 layer dip and chips, stuffed mushrooms, taquitos, wings, Muddy Buddies, M&M's, raspberry pie, pizza, homemade ice cream, vegetable tray, salad, soda, and chocolate chip cookies. Needless to say, it was temptation island for me. I tried to stick to the vegetable tray and salad as much as possible, but food is so dang good!Speaking of eating unhealthy food. The results of my ultrasound came back positive for gall stones. Joy of joys! The doctors says it's totally up to me to have my gall bladder removed or not. He said I can try to eat really healthy and just deal with the attacks when they come, or I can have it removed. I'm not going to die either way. I'm leaning toward getting it taken out. Who wants to stress out every single time you eat something not healthy? A girl needs a burger and fries every now and then! I will keep you posted!

Other adventures that have happened in February so far include watching every BYU basketball game, lots of fun time with friends, a snowshoeing date with a certain boy, and lots and lots of boy drama (both my own drama and my friends' drama, when it rains, it pours!). It makes for an interesting life! Every day is a new adventure! I feel like I'm 16 again (though I don't remember having much boy drama in the teenage years), and my acne face makes me look like I'm 16 again as well. I think it's stress-related. I need a long vacation!

Another January in the Books

I cannot even 1% believe that January is over already! How does that happen? It was a busy month for me, but lots of fun. Here are some of my adventures.

I went snowshoeing for the first time up to Donut Falls. I am in love with snowshoeing now! Everything on my body besides my underwear and hat was borrowed from someone. That’s how ill-stocked I am with outdoor winter apparel. So snowshoeing is pretty much just hiking, but with large apparatuses on your feet. It was the perfect weather! And I got to spend time with my dear friend, Amber, who was home from Boston for Christmas. I scaled this super steep mountainside covered in like 4 feet of powder. If someone was watching me, it was probably very entertaining. I would step and literally sink to my chest in snow. I don’t know how I made it to the top, but it was sooo fun to slide down! Hopefully there is more snowshoeing in my future!

The second week of January, I got to go to Dallas/Ft. Worth for work. It was the most freezing weather ever there, and I had packed a single hoodie. Awesome by me! It was good to get away for a week or so, and I got to visit Roxy and her family the weekend after my work time. Does anyone else have bestest friends ever who live far away and you forget how much you love and miss them until you spend time with them? Well, Roxy is one of those people! Why do we live so far apart?! We went on lots of fun Texas adventures! We went to the JFK Museum and saw where he was shot. It blows my mind that this actually happened. It sort of made me the saddest. We also stopped by the temple so I could check another temple off my list. I went to the Spanish branch with them on Sunday. I would say I caught about 50-60% of what was going on. Not too bad for how rusty I am! On Monday we went to the Dallas Aquarium. I maintain my disbelief in large animals. On this visit, I was particularly disgusted by the anteaters. Definitely not real!

That's me standing on the "X". I had another gall bladder attack this day, so I was a bit under the weather. (Don't worry, I went to the doctor today and have an appointment for an ultrasound on Wed. I hate doctor time!)

Roxy and Diego's girls are the cutest. We had so much fun! Lucia is 2 and a half and Amaia turned 8 months while I was there.

Lulu and I might be BFF now. She called me Fairy instead of Kerri almost the whole time I was there. Roxy asked her why she called me Fairy when she knew my name was Kerri, and she is it was become I'm "so cute"! She's the cute one!

And of course we had to eat some Texas BBQ while I was there. We went to Sonny Bryan's in downtown Dallas. It was DE-licious! It's BBQ sauce, don't you worry! And yes, I would drink their BBQ sauce, or any sauce for that matter.


The weekend after I got back from Dallas, I went with a couple of friends up to Logan for a little getaway. I failed to take my camera, but we got pedicures, went to the Bluebird Diner for dinner (my first ever plate of Bluebird Chicken...sent straight from heaven), and to a USU basketball game. It was so much fun! We stayed the night in a hotel and then drove home for church the next morning. Funny story...Haley and I had some hot tub time at the hotel. When I went to change back into my clothes, I was like....ummmmmm...what happened to my swimsuit?! It was completely bleached from the hot tub. Their chlorine levels must have been through the roof. My once black swimsuit is now varying shades of gray, brown, and orange. It's ok though, I needed a new one that fits anyway!

And the last awesome adventure of January was the BYU basketball game against San Diego State at the Marriott Center. I had gotten a friend tickets to the game for Christmas, and he was kind enough to take me along. It was OUTRAGEOUS! Or I should say, Jimmer Fredette was OUTRAGEOUS!! I almost can't believe that I was actually there, that's how unreal it was. The crowd was so loud! Jimmer scored like 42 points or something crazy, and we won! We were ranked #9 in the nation and SDSU was #4. Very well could have been my biggest BYU sports moment ever, though I've had quite a few of those. This pic isn't the greatest because I took it with my phone, but you get the idea! Fans storming the court afterward! (Don't worry, the cougs backed up this huge awesome victory with a loss to New Mexico this last weekend...idiots!)
And just for good measure, I had to get a pic in this igloo that's in Kara and Ryan's quad at their apartment complex. It's not every day you get to chill (and I mean that literally) in an igloo. This was right after the game.
So that's January in a nutshell! Bring on February!
